FACE CARE

To know Your skin type

Dry :

Dry skin is often thinner than normal skin. This can make it more susceptible to fine lines and wrinkles at an early age. Dry skin can appear flaky and lack suppleness which often leads to feeling of "tight", skin. Unsuitable skin care can leave the skin "thirsty" for the added moisture it needs. Dry skin‘s hydrolipidic layer is lipid-deficient and lacks the intercellular "cement" that skin cells need to maintain the skin‘s firm quality. For this reason, dry skin can flake off easily. A very demanding skin type, dry skin needs added mositure to nourish and replenish. Doubling up on skin care treatments may even prove to be necessary during the winter for example.

Normal :

Not really dry, nor oily, normal skin is just that: normal. Normal skin is perfectly balanced, does not appear shiny, is soft and supple without any feelings of discomfort.

products. Certain medication, alcohol and spicy food can also lead to skin sensitivity. Clarins range of products that target sensitive skin soothe and rebalance, help restructure the skin. They can be used when needed (over a period of a few months) and once the skin is rebalanced, you can continue using your regular skin care products adapted to your skin type.

Combination :

Combination skin is characterized by an oily tendency on the T-zone (forehead, nose and chin) due to excessive oil production by the sebaceous glands. The rest of the face is normal or dry. It is important to choose products specially adapted to these variations and even treat the T-zone separately (when using a mask for example).

Oily :

Oily skin is usually thicker than other skin types, is often shiny with visible pores. Blackheads and blemishes are also common characteristics of oily skin. Higher levels of sebaceous secretions are the reason your complexion may look dull and lacklustre. Oily skin "resists" skin aging and sun exposure well but make-up is often short lived. When oily skin ages, fines lines and wrinkles take longer to set, however, oily skin is more prone to skin slackening.Oily skin needs to be balanced with gentle skin care products since (contrary to popular belief) oily skin often becomes sensitive due to aggressive, unsuitable products.
